Treasons of the Heart by Charlotte Lamb

Treasons of the Heart by Charlotte Lamb

Synopsis
When Claudia and Ben meet in Paris, the sexual frisson between them is powerful, instantaneous - and mutual, until Claudia's home is burgled and she is violently attacked. She begins to suspect Ben is less interested in her than in Hugh, the enigmatic Englishman who owns her apartment. Hugh had been her father's best friend, and took care of her when her parents died. When she tells him Ben is in Paris, Hugh is obviously troubled.

Fleeing in terror to Hugh's villa on the beautiful Cap d'Antibes, Claudia is pursued by Ben and other sinister figures - including the ghosts of the past. What secret does Hugh know about the long-dead Duke of Windsor and why does it treaten their lives?

As she strunggles in a web of treason and old lies, Claudia has to decide whether Ben is lover or deadly enemy.

I say...
I Ŀ♡√Ɛ Charlotte Lamb' books, I have read lots of them, all offer irrestible mystery and romance. And who could guess that the second book that I picked after Destinies had the same prologue at the same era and places.

It was about some British higher-up' past during the 2nd WW. It didn't tell clearly who and what treason had made at that time but clearly, upon discovering, this could shake the history and unwanted scandal. Therefore, the decendant was trying to get hold of the written proof, by mistakenly asking a bad thugs to do the dirty job, from burglary, attemption for raping and abduction.

However, all ended well. Past was forgiven, Ŀ♡√Ɛ was embraced. Charlotte Lamb sure has a gig in mixing the suspense with romance, at the perfect time and dose as well. I gave this 3.5 out of 5.
