Mixed Doubles by Kathryn Bellamy

Mixed Doubles by Kathryn Bellamy

Synopsis
Has Ace met his match? She had arrived punctually at the hotel, quaking with fear, and had been given a key to his suite. But somehow nothing was working out quite as she'd anticipated:

'I don't want you!" Ace said forcefully 'In case you haven't worked it out yet, let me spell it out for you. I made you come to this hotel only to teach you a lesson. Cause trouble for me and you'll get it back, tenfold - is that clear now?' He demamded.

'You don't want me?' Alexa only grasped those few hurtful words and her face crumpled. 'No one does. I'm useless in bed!'

'You're useless, full stop!' Ace turned on his heel to leave...

I say...
Frankly...I hated the girl main character...she was a snob, selfish, no-good at all. But she was getting much likable toward the end. Yet, it was her fault for being so bitchy (pardon my language but I had this urge to throw the book back to its shelf after few chapters).

I gave 3 out of 5 for this book...it was just an average book of romance mixed some tricks story. It started with the boring and flat story but getting more interesting after half of the book. However I liked the ending, but as other romance novel, it was rarely ended sadly or unexpected.

It was not the first time for me to read the work of Kathryn since I got two books on my bookshelf. Another book of her that I enjoyed was Summer of Secrets (linked toward her previous book of Game, Set & Match) which featured the same characters from this book as well, the Melissa Farrell and Nick. This one had more interesting and saucy story, where a man and woman agreed to be an item just for the sake of his mother. And as you could guess, turned out there were real spark between the couple.

I also liked her A Woman Scorned with different background than her Game, Set & Match. It was about reconciliation after several years apart, after a baby was there in between them.
