My friends, often ask me
about hotels around Lembang/Dago area (maybe bacause we often spend our weekend there).
One after another…and since I’ve been repeating almost the same information, I
thought it would be better if I made some sort of summary for them and
hopefully you could find it useful too. I wouldn’t go into much details of the
properties (since you could find those information on the respective websites)
so here, I would note what I thought interesting and not. I put lots of picture
here…well some said that a single pic tells thousand words J
The greenery around the resort |
Natural rock in front of the row of bungalows |
The front porch of the bungalow |
The back porch overlooking the river and forest |
Pluses:
§
Located near
Kampung Gajah (Jln. Sersan Badjuri) so it’s quite perfect for 1N stay if you
plan to visit Kampung Gajah on the next day
§
A few spaces
to Jendela Alam too, another fun yet educating place for your children
§
The complex is
vast, lots of greenery and place for my girls to run around without bumping
into another guest
§
The bungalow
was located near the river bank, so we could hear the water stream. It was
pretty relaxing, to have birds’ chirping and river flow music while you are
having an aromatic bubble hot bath *grinning*
§
The bungalow
was quite big, enough for 4 of us with spacious balcony overlooking the river
The restaurant |
Some gazebos for intimate dining experience |
The hanging bridge |
Minus:
§
The small
outbound seemed not well-maintained
§
The hanging
bridge, perhaps due to safety reason, was closed (defeated the purpose of
having one then)
§
No other means
of entertainment here (for adult nor kids)
§
Only had 1
restaurant, so basically not much option for dining there
§
Since the bungalow
was located at the back (facing a forest), so it had lots of insect…not harmful
but better bring your insect repellant though
§
The hotel room
was small and standard
.

Astonishing view right? |
The bungalow design |
Pluses
§
It was
picturesque…even in rain…like a setting on a postcard (see the pic for
yourself)
§
There was
(human-made?) lake in the middle in which you can row the canoe around (well
you could ask the staff to row for you too)
§
They had some
activities for children like painting a batik or making a simple kite
§
I like the way
they designed the bungalow (promoted the way to live in harmony with the mother
nature – no worry though – they still have electric outlet and flat widescreen
TV available but only local channels though)…but for someone who dislike
wood/insect/bamboo hut might find it quite terrifying
Inside the bungalow...pretty dark even in the noon |
Another dark restaurant |
Minus
§
The lighting
was too dim…when the night falls, it was pretty dark. More ever, the bungalow
was set in natural and tropical landscape…so it was quite uncomfortable at
night around the hotel (so not only in the bungalow room but in the restaurant
as well)
§
Again, due to
the tropical landscape, expect some insect inside your room and DO bring your
insect repellant
§
The room is
too small for 4 of us, there was barely space to stretch our legs LOL…well,
there was barely space for my girls to run around J
§
Only had one
restaurant so unless you are having your meals somewhere else, or you are going
to have those traditional Sudanese dishes and snacks.
Row...row...row your boat |
The spa area at the back of the complex |
The park in the middle of the complex |
The reception area with koi pond |
The breath-taking spa areas (perfect for your pre-wed photo taking) |
The only entertainment there |
Pluses
§
Ah…one of my
fav. I declared this as one of the best hideaway for romantic weekend/honeymoon.
The place was so serene and simply lovely.
§
The place is
big and private (if you are lucky since they only had 2 bungalows with private
pool, you could even swim stark-naked in your private pool – if you can
withstand the cold though). The bungalow itself was huge with wooden materials.
§
I liked the
design…I loved the simple and not-useful stuffs (you know…sort of stuff that
had nothing to do yet essential) scattered around inside the bungalow. I loved
the oldies floor tiles they had there…really brought back some memories (geez
do I sounded like an old woman? Hope not). I loved the cozy ambiance despite
the oldies setting. I don’t know how they collect some oldies mag…I saw some
noted back in 1980s. I liked the big rock bath tub *grinning*
The traditional restaurant |
Where can you find these nowsaday? |
I just realized...so female is papaya and male is banana LOL |
Minus
§
Since it was
quite perfect for honeymooner…so don’t expect kids’ club or kids activities
here J
