"Grey - Fifty Shades of Grey as told by Christian" by E L James

The cover taken from my tab
Grey...few years back, it was a simple boring colour (though i did like that particular color - still remembered a skirt that i owned during that time...n after thinking hard, i still like the color now). But these few years back, grey is much associated with the well-written series by E L James. I have to admit, i thought the author was a man, but to my surprise, it is a woman (i enjoy reading but i don't really pay a lot of attention to the author). It was a separate world - between the world in the book and the real life of the author and i like to keep both separated. Anyway, i just finished the 4th book...i woke up around 2.30am this morning and read thru till 5am. I bought it few days ago, after searching high and low on almost every bookstores here, i even checked out the one in the airport to vain. I was contemplating to get a copy from Amazon, but considering the price and the pain (i can't wait for 1month delivery plus custom stuff), i finally settled for the Google playbooks version (i still prefer the old-fashioned paperback though). Since i am still tight up with my project, i could only read several pages at night and it made me desperate...yes, i am very impatient...but you hardly can blame me ^.^

So back to the controversial Grey (btw i still havent watched the movie - it was banned here)...some people love it...some loathe it...some doesn't even wanna read it...some like it but afraid or ashamed to admit. While me...i like it sooo very much ^.^  Ok, don't get me wrong...i like the book but about the BDSM...ehm...i don't think i am cut for it (i avoid pain as much as i could - otherwise i would have had lots of tattoo on my skin by now wkwkwk). But the book-lover-freak inside me is screaming for joy when i read Grey series. I love the first 3books (Grey, Darker and Freed )which tell the stories from Ana's point of view but i found this Grey book, Grey's point of view - astonishing. Maybe because it is rare to read a fiction from male lead' point of view. I read a bit of Edward Cullen from incomplete and unofficial Midnight Sun, i like the witty story of Evan in Tangled series (by Emma Chase), and this Grey book is an mind-opener.

It is refreshing to get 'into' Christian Grey's head...to know what ticks him, which button moves him and how his mind works. It really fascinates me to get a glimpse of what was going on in a men' head, especially a fifty-shades-f*cked-up-guy-like-Grey. Well, at least Grey had successfully occupied my nights *winking*

PS. Pls bear with me - i know there are lot of typo here - since i'm blogging using my mobile, but i am just too lazy (and sleepy) to cross every t and dot every i   :-)

Periplus book sale @fx mall

This sunday, we went to Foodism (fx f7) for lunch. With low light set-up, the place brings out a laidback place for long stay and chitchat after meals. The menus are a little bit pricey (to my standard, starting from 30k above) but it was worth your money. Each dish that we ordered turned out to be good, looked mouth-watering and definitely finger licking yum yum.

After lunch, we circled the mall, until unexpectedly, we stumbled upon Periplus book sale (fx - f1). As a book lover, I could let this to slip. The books are stacked up, from design books, recipes up to children books. I positioned myself at the fictions rack, patiently browsed the books - one by one (my fam waited patiently at a coffee shop he he he since they knew I would take an hour or so).

The price range started from 10k above, plus another 30-50%off (on selected items) on top of those special prices. At the end, I purchased 7novels with only 107k (what a bargain!). Now, I have to look for a new shelves for my new books (๑'⌣'๑)づ

Another books on sale

Last sunday, we went to Mangga 2 Square (well it's very near from our house, 5mins of drive) and we have a baby shop there (GF blok B94/95). Incidentally I went to the 2nd floor (ATM center) and found out that Gramedia is having a bazaar there. Since I like books...I couldn't stop myself for not browsing thru it.

There is a corner with english books (I had to resist myself for not jumping around happily) at a very friendly price, 15k each (what!!!). So, forgetting bout my original purpose, there I was, squating and selecting books in the middle of dusty and stenchful old collections (literally, I found some books published at late 70s). I had to cover my nose while browsing thru it. Despite all those things, I still bought 7books

Now, I have cleaned those books and I put it inside a plastic bag with lots of potpouri to get rid of the stench. Can't wait to read it (>.<)

Sometime I like to read romance in between of fast-pacing full of action books

Hunting books @Spore

I can say that we always visit this small yet clean and well maintained city at least once a year (especially since there are lots of LCC offers). Unlike others who frequent the Orchard Road, I always manage to drop for few hours @Brash Basah complex (5mins walk from Circle line MRT exit Brash Basah). One compulsory thing-to-do within my Spore itinerary is to buy books, especially school books for my girls. Since my girls are studying @nasional plus school with Singaporean curriculum, I can find lots of references and practice papers, especially for English and Math subjects. It doesn’t mean that I cant find those book @Jkt, however the price is doubled with limited options to choose (Times Lippo has a very limited collection of Sporean curriculum school books, try Gramedia GI or Matraman for bigger collection)
New books on sale

Beside school books, you can find lots of reference books (either in English or mandarin or any other language) on any other subject here @Brash Basah Complex. It is a complex which mostly sells books (used books), school attributes, sports attributes, as well as music books and instruments. My fav store here is Popular (for new books) and Book Points (for used books). The price is much cheaper, however do keep remind yourself not to exceed your baggage allowance.

Lets hunt some books   :-)
