Novotel Bandung

This weekend was special. We went to Bandung to celebrate my hubby's birthday уααу!ヽ(▽ ̄ )乂( ̄▽)ノ уααу! *Ehm...wondering why we always celebrate birthday @Bandung?* And this time, we spent our night @Novotel Bandung since we got member's hot deal. Strategically located in the middle of the city, it is just stones away from the famous shopping area of CiWalk and lots of FO. The hotel which received the earth check award looks sleek and simple, yet elegance, caters both business and family. Furthermore, currently, Novotel is displaying some art works of Handiwirman Saputra. Various artworks can be seen on every floor...some are unique and unthinkable...some are creative. These artworks are sure adding certain charm to the hotel.

The minimalist room

The doormen welcomed us with a bright smile while opening the doors to the minimalist lobby. Perhaps our timing was bad, since it took almost 20mins for check-in and we couldn't get any upgrade due to the full occupancy of the hotel. Apparantly, there were some highers up at that time, since we saw some cabinet ministry and embassy cars in the vip parking lot. However, I hardly noticed the time since the staff offered us, our welcoming drinks of fresh apple cider right away.
The swimming pools

The room was nice, with bathtub (the most important thing for my girls) and almost all essential appliances. However, I hate the dimmed lights ‎(>_<、) pheω...‎(・ω・`メ)(-ω-`メ) . It was bright during the day (due to the glass wall) but when the night fell, I barely could see a thing. The reading lamp wasn't helpful at all. Another drawback is they don't provide wifi in the rooms, only network cable. However we could access their free wifi in the lobby and cafe/resto area. Anyway, we didn't spent lots of time in the room since my girls were exciting for their swimming time.

My hardworking girls...doing homework

So we directly head to the pool at the 1st floor (the same floor with the lobby). The pool is right in front of (the verandah) the Grand Odiseus fitness and spa. The Dino Kids Club is located inside this place as well. I wasn't surprised when we saw the small pools waiting for us there (almost all of Novotel's pools are small). There was a small square of kids pool with 0.4m depth and another 1.4m depth which was longer. Despite the size, I like how they put the separation between those pools, using few stepping tiles (which look like floating tiles). Obviously, the pool is not designed for sun-bathing with minimal sun-deck and space provided. Even I got splashed when I was waiting for my girls. And the water was cold...freezing cold. My girls who loves swimming (they can play up to 2hours), were only playing for less than 15mins. Their lips were whiten blue already and I rushed to prepare a hot tub for them to soak in.
Cia2' breakfast   :-)

As for dining, Novotel has The Square resto which offers various menu from Indonesia, Asia and western dishes. They have buffee for breakfast, brunch, and dinner during weekend, but you could always choose ala carte if you wish. Drop at the lobby resto during dusk time and enjoy your personalized cappucino with your initial. For sweet-tooth, you could have some cakes @Delicieux (right beside The Square). They offer 30% off for any cake/pastry purchased after 7pm. So why don't you have some cake while listening to the live band performance?
