This Time Forever by Vickie Moore

This Time Forever by Vickie Moore

Synopsis
Trevan Elliott seems to think that Jocelyn Kendrick should fall into his arms without a strunggle. He remembers her and can't believe that she doesn't recognize him. Though Jocelyn does feel there is something excitingly familiar about Trevan's kisses...

But there is someone else who knows the truth about Trevan's and Jocelyn's shared past. A someone with a terrible secret he must hide at all cost. And he won't even stop at murder!

Jocelyn doesn't intend to be anyone's victim - not even the irrestible stranger who seems to know more about her than she does herself. But how can she resist the man who tells her: 'Fate has brought us together...time can never tear us apart.'

I say...
Єнммм...(゜.゜*)(*゜.゜)...the cover looked so alluring so I was kinda up-lifted when I started this. Guess I would make it a week for romance fictions (I still got about fortnight of holiday...may as well finish up my new sale books) before drown myself into those action fictions.

It started off quite nicely, with a murder right on the first page (not that I'm into this kind of thing) but it promised me, a good story plot would unfold. Then another surprise of time traveller was being added right after the prologue. Plus loose serial killer in town, poison and car accident, you practically had all of excitement here (I went thump thump thump just because of curiousity). I hardly wanted to put down the book, afraid of loosing the intense action built page by page. I managed to cook simple dinner in less than 15mins (っˆヮˆ)っ нa헤нa헤нa헤 as well as a quick shower. The plot moved fast, sweet romance then a dreadful finding of the murder then sweet and light flirting before running thru the alleys ‎(>_<、) pheω...‎(・ω・`メ)(-ω-`メ) .

Awesome, I thought this as the best work of Vickie so far (as far as I read). She obviously did her homework well, the suspense was intense and I gave it 4 out of 5 for the rating.
This is not the first work that I have read of Vickie Moore. She is well known (in the league of romance fiction lovers) of her romance story with intriques entwined within. Don't expect something too hot from her, but you could have an entertaining reading of murder or suspense investigation.

I have read her Shadowed Promises. A story about a psychic who was called to help a family solving a crime but ended up as the accused murdered. And how the handsome lawyer played his part in the story.

I read her Seared Satin as well, where the tough woman, a boss of security firm get together with gorgeous medical examiner. Beside joined forces into solving a deadly mystery, apparently they joined forces on other more intimate part too. Curious...read it for yourself then *winking*

I would add my old books that I have at my private library (what i called for few bookshelves stuck together, trying hard to bear the weight of my books he he he) into the blog, maybe slowly one by one when I have time.

Green tea muffin

It started when I stumbled upon a picture of green tea biscotti which made me mouth watering. I made a promise to myself to make one. Since then on, I’ve tried to find green tea powder everywhere, especially the big supermarket which normally sells import stuff, however at that time, I found none (last week I found one @Lottemart Gandaria City). Luckily my girl’s classmate turned out to have a Japanese father which come and go to Jkt once in every two/three months. So when his father came, he brought me a pack of green tea powder (matcha). Wow…I couldn’t contain my happiness and I promised his mom to bake something in return :-)

The Matcha

However due to my laziness he he he, I haven’t baked anything during the school holiday and in less than 2 weeks, I’ll be back on my daily routine (which make baking quite impossible). Since I remember my promise, so yesterday I set a target to myself, to at least bake 2 kinds of thing using Matcha by end of this week. I just completed purchasing all of basic ingredients today during my weekly groceries shopping. Too bad, I found no ready-to-eat pumpkin seeds (the ones without the skin) or roasted almonds. Anyway, after I came home, I set to prepare my baking stuff. If I wait or postpone, I don’t know when I am going to do it. So I took out my dusty oven, the weighting scale, mixer and other stuff while I was still on the mood.

Tonite, I made green tea muffin. I tried to modify my old choc muffin and since it was my first try, it turned out to be too sweet (for my taste) though my girl likes it. Next time, I gotta add more green tea powder by 1-2 tea spoons or decrease the sugar by 50 grams (trial and error he he he). It was crunchy on outside and yet quite soft on the inside. However, as a novice baker who bake once a year, I considered my first try a success (hurray to me >.<  )

The mixture
For those who would like to try it out, here is the recipe

Not bad aren't they   :-)   Lots of hole since i wanted to make sure every muffin was well baked

Green Tea Muffin (for 9 muffin cups)

You need:
2 tea spoons of green tea powder
110g of all purpose flour
½ tea spoon of baking powder
1 egg
115g of sugar
55g of unsalted butter (room temperature and mash with fork)
50ml of milk

How to:
1.       Shift green tea powder, flour and baking powder and set aside.
2.       Mix egg, sugar, and butter until soft and creamy. Slowly add the flour mixture into it and mix until even. Add milk and mix until smooth.
3.       Preheat the oven (since I use the traditional one, so I can’t give you the required temperature).
4.       Pour the mixture into muffin cup (with muffin paper cup as well) until half of the cup is filled.
5.       Bake for 40mins (medium heat) until a bit golden. Use skewer stick to check whether the muffin is well baked or not.
6.       Take it out and cool it.

Tips:
1.       Seal tight the green tea powder once it is opened and store in the fridge. If you don't have Matcha, you can use green tea (tea bag) and blend it into a powdery state.
2.       If you don’t have baking powder, use 1portion of baking soda plus 2portions of cream of tar2.
3.       If you want, you can put chopped roasted almond or choc chips or pumpkin seeds as a topping prior baking process.

And now, I’m going to have my muffin with a cup of tea (I just bought this Sleepwell tea, tastes quite good with herbal smell). Let see, whether the tea works   *grinning*

Blue Silk Promise by Julia Wild

Blue Silk Promise - Honeymoon for One by Julia Wild

The synopsis
Nick knows that there is something wrong! Surely he'd remember being engaged to someone as gorgeous as Kayanne? But she insisted they are to be married and that she is passionately in Ŀ♡√Ɛ with him.

And so the wedding goes ahead and Nick is soon honeymooning with his bride - though it is a honeymoon in name only. But out in the darkness there is someone who is determined to keep it that way - someone who has reason to want Nick dead and Kayanne 'widowed'...

I say...
‎‎‎⊙.◎ ‎‎w(°o°)w ⊙.◎ ...not cheapy standard romance this one. I expected something lighter to take a break from series of action books that I've been reading for a while. And it's been sometime since the last I read a romance and the one I chose, made me cry just after 20pages geezzz. It was cute with sexy bantering, and HOT (my heart was constricting many times as I read more and more). I was hooked. I even read thru the nite using a small light (you know the kind of torch light that уσυ attach on the book while уσυ are reading. I even managed to change the battery when the light went dim, too bad I didn't have any new battery left).

The story had this surprising twirl right at the beginning until the end. I'd thought it was a bit weird since the wife kept calling her husband with his surname, but at the end it turned out to be a smart thought of the author. Bravo! I liked it. It was 3.5 out of 5 for the story and 4 out of 5 for the sexyness hehehe.

All girls' talk :-)

This weekend was quite hectic. I had an early appointment with the gals from my junior high. We had been planning for a small reunion but one and another, always cancelled (it was quite tough to match everybody' busy schedule ‎(>_<、) pheω...‎(・ω・`メ)(-ω-`メ) )...at least me managed to get some girls (from our class) for last saturday reunion уααу!ヽ(▽ ̄ )乂( ̄▽)ノ уααу!

We chose Ohlal* Bistro @Springhill, a luxury estate in Kemayoran, all because it's perfectly located in the middle. Too bad, such lux wasn't reflected on it's public area such as the restroom. No tissue available at any cubicle and only one tap was working ‎(>_<、) pheω...‎(・ω・`メ)(-ω-`メ) . I'd have expected to encounter this kind of thing @one deserted mall (WT* Mangd* which is more like haunted place instead of mall) but not on a place like Springhill.
The indoor
I found the same thing inside the Ohlal* interior too, damaged roof due to un-fixed leakage, shabby menus, overall, it is the worst Ohlal* that I've set my foot on. They separated the smoking (outdoor) with non-smoking area (indoor). Lightly decorated with few couches in front of flat screen tv and few rows of eceng-gondok-chairs, it's sufficient for just sit and eat your meal. However, sitting for few hours on that eceng gondok chair hurted my bottom ‎(>_<、) pheω...‎(・ω・`メ)(-ω-`メ) and left some prints on my legs too.

While browsing thru the menus, I compared this spot with another Ohlal* outlets that i've normally go. I like the one @M2S, the ambiance is cozy, with plush and big sofas...make you abandon the will to get up and wanna sit there for all day, not to mention the good foods and drinks offered there. Too bad, they don't separate the smoking with non ones. The service there is awesome too, compare to the lacking servicing attitude shown here @Springhill outlet.
Poolside pose
A moment later, our drinks and dishes came. Much to my surprise, since half of the drinks were served in plastic cups (the kind that you get for take-away order). Ehm maybe they didn't have enough glasses for all of us (I counted the number of us, only 7adults with bunch of children). Nothing special that I can say for the foods nor the drinks. I made a mental note not to come here again...what a shame for a well-known outlet.

However, regardless the surrounding, we enjoyed our intimate chitchat. So, are we going to karaoke for the next reunion?

Bersatunya 2 Jiwa - Glass Mask by Suzue Miuchi

Yuuhuuu...finally, after a long wait, the new series of Glass Mask (Garasu No Kamen) is out now! Yes, this was the one that I grabbed this morning, while tossing my blanket aside. I skipped my breakfast, I forgot to make my hot choc (my morning ritual), I put everything else on the side of my brain while I was slowly reading page by page (yes, I took my time pleasurely...absorbing and blending myself into the story).

For Japanese manga lovers, Glass Mask holds a very dear part either in the heart or on the bookshelf. It was a story about a little orphan girl who doesn't have anything beside her Ŀ♡√Ɛ and passion toward drama, who competes in a drama/stage performance with a girl who has it all. It has intense romance (yeah, I bet just a mention of Masumi will make your heart beat faster), fierce competition, ups and downs.

On this new series, both Masumi and Maya, came clean with everything (oohhh...it was so sweet). However, problems seemed to hang around like dark cloud before heavy rain. I wonder...again and again...when this series will end. Will it end happily with Masumi and Maya as an item, or perhaps Suzue Miuchi has some surprise in store for us. Let's hope the author keeps continuing this series (geez...it's been decades).

Now, I wanna re-read it, especially the part on the ship's deck *winking*
