Hello again (>.<) How have we been doing? I know, this blog was on hiatus for several months but no worry, I will write a bit now and then from now on. There are many items to write on my list, starting from my newly-founded-addiction-to-kdrama, new places and city, and some random items   ^.^

So this time I would like to write about a tiny budget hotel in KL which was charming (well - at least for me). We kinda had a short stop-over at KL and we were looking for somewhere to sleep near the airport area. We found this hotel thru online booking service and I booked it just because of the location, the price and the review score wasn't that bad (too lazy to find another place - it was only a night). I didn't explore the hotel so I couldn't write much, we were sort of check-in, sleep and then check out in the morning.

Anyway, we didn't expect much when we arrived at the hotel, pretty late at night. So I wasn't really surprised to find the hotel was squeezed in between shops. It was small but very eye-catching, especially at night with all those bluish & purplish spotlights (but I guess it will be hard to find during daylight). It was kinda hard to miss the hotel since the surrounding was dimmed.

The basic amenities

Since it was for a short nite, we chose 'Sleep 2 S' room which was small but nicely arranged with very simple furniture. We have all basic amenities provided, from small flat TV, electric kettle, and AC but they didn't provide safe deposit box neither fridge. I don't know whether they provide it for other type of room but we didn't use and need it anyway - we only needed the bed ^^ Our room didn't come with breakfast so I bought myself a bread

Overall, we had a good sleep...the room was clean...everything worked as it should be. Lucky I have a soft spot for purple since all i remembered was all those bluish and purplish light outside and inside the hotel wkwkwk). BTW if you are interested, you could check the hotel's website here

Hello everyone...how have we been doing so far? I hope October had been a good month for all of you. This is a latepost but I just managed to add some pics to this post. Remember when I went to KL few months ago, well, I stayed at Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside hotel which was pretty awesome.

Location:

Ok, the main reason I chosen this was because it was the nearest to PICC (15minutes of walking distance or 3mins of drive), where I had a conference at that time. Beside, it was pretty close to KLIA as well, only 15minutes of drive (too bad - the hotel did not provide free airport shuttle service). However, if you have nothing to do with PICC on your agenda during your stay at KL, then I would not recommend this hotel. It was far from the nearest shopping mall (another 15minutes of drive with scarce taxi available), another 15minutes of drive to the nearest train station (that connects you to the main MRT station) and a very limited choice of restaurant/cafe/convenient store available nearby (my suggestion, stock up your instant noodle in case you have a late-night carving). Lucky, the hotel provided free shuttle to the mall and train station though it only run at certain period of time

The hotel:
Despite all the above, I loved the hotel. It was beautiful with diversed Malay's culture infused on the facade and the complex layout. This 5star hotel was vast (I spent 2 evenings just to leisurely explore the whole area - and of course took lotsa pics of myself wkwkwk). They divided the hotel into 4 areas, the Lotus wing with Chinese' red-brick style, Bunga Tanjung wing with Malay style, Rafflesia wing with Borneo wooden style and Jasmine wing with its Indian style. In the middle of it, it had big piazza that could hold your outdoor gathering activities. Each wing/tower had its own distinctive lobby

The room:
We got the room on the top corner of Rafflesia tower with unobstructed view toward the lake and the plaza...totally awesome (especially during the sunrise and sunset). The room itself, as you can see from the pics below were big and cozy. Basic amenities were available (though I did not get any toothpaste - I was kinda run out of it at that time). I loved the traditional bathroom door that was made from plaited bamboo sheets...so original and I just love the bed (especially I only shared it with my dear hubby)

The facilities:
The hotel has 2 restaurants, The Village and B'S but I only tried B'S for breakfast. I was disappointed with the meals provided. They had variety of meals however almost all of them were tasteless. Probably it was due to the number of guest at that time (full occupancy during my stay) but in my opinion, Pullman should be more professional in catering especially during the peak season. Beside the restaurant, the hotel also had a deli, a bar, and a small (with limited stuff on shelves) convenient store. It has 2 swimming pools which unfortunately I did not have a chance to try it out, a gym next to it and a spa. If you are bringing your kids along, they also had a kids club which was vacant all the time during my stay there ha ha ha  :-) The most important thing was...free wifi was available everywhere...yay. It made me stay connected during my stay there (meaning: I could directly upload my pics to the socmed ha ha ha).

The surrounding:
From another perspective, the hotel was very strategic. It was located right beside the lake with a view toward the Putrajaya watersport club. A walking distance toward the marina where we could cruise along the lake (another thing that we missed - should have notice the cruise operational hours). However, we got a very nice surprise during my lazy stroll, I found a man-made beach at the far corner of the hotel complex. Yes...beach at Putrajaya...sounded unbelievable but the white soft sands with coconut trees was inviting   >.<   I spent sometimes there just to squeeze my toes around the sun-warm sands. Overall, it was a nice stay and would love to bring my girls there. See ya...

Hello everyone  >.<  how are you doing? Me…life is great guys but right now I am a bit torn between two options. I knew I promised to write about my previous holiday to Malaysia but on the other hand, I had this urge to write about what I did with most of my morning at my art corner. It’s been a while since my last art and craft post isn’t it? But I guess, better deliver what I promised before…

So during the last Eid-al-Fitr holiday, me and my hubby (yes – finally we could go somewhere just the two of us ha ha ha) went to Putrajaya, Malaysia. Actually, we attended a 2.5day convention there but we extended our stay there for little sightseeing. We visited Malaysia several times already, in fact, I spent few years there completing my degree however we have never explored the Putrajaya.

The very first thing that amazed me about this city was how it was well designed, built, structured and maintained. The roads are big, smooth pavement, lots of greenery, clean and spotless. No traffic – actually the roads were a bit deserted (probably because it was a big holiday and most of the citizen was away). Very few convenience stores or restos around the city too – unless you go to the point of attractions which was quite troublesome for us (since it was as hard as to get a taxi to go around too).

As you could google, Putrajaya was designed specifically for government offices. I am not going to telltale much about the city (just wiki it please) but I loved how the city centers itself around the man-made lake (well – at least, that was what the taxi driver told us). Everywhere you go, you would see the lake – mind you, not the kind of lake that we normally find here in Jakarta (it’s improving but still farrrrr compared to the Putrajaya one) but this one was clean and serene. There were several famous spots and we managed to visit some of them by taxi.

For your convenience, you could go to Putrajaya train station (Putrajaya central) and find the taxi corner. There, they have sightseeing service which will drive you around Putrajaya from MYR38 for 1hour up to few hours. No worry, it was official (no scam by the taxi driver too – so if you are travelling solo, just be at peace and hire them). If you have more time, it is most recommended to drive around Putrajaya at daylight and during the nitetime (the lighting gave off different vibe of the city – very romantic ^^). In all, they covered Darul Ehsan Palace, Millenium Monument, several government buildings and complex like Palace of Justice or Prime Minister Office, water sport centre, distinguished hotels like Pullman and Marriot, as well as few bridges and botanical gardens.

Since we only had 2.5days for sightseeing, so we opted for an hour, which we visited 4 places (too bad – they picked the places – not our option to choose). We skipped Putrajaya International Convention Center (PICC – the place we had our convention) and the gardens (it was afternoon and the sun was unforgiving). So we settled with their famous bridges and the Putra Mosque. Here are the pics…enjoy (^.^)
