Google Playbook

Hi...(シ_ _)シ ハハァーѕσяяу I haven't gotten time to write more. I have new business which takes up half of my free time (don't get me wrong...I enjoy doing it...a lot). I will tell you more bout this later (when I have free time which I don't spend on my manga or books). Talking bout books, few weeks ago, Google launched books on its Google Playstore (I use android gadget). So as a book lover, I bought all those free books. Yes, it was free but still I had to provide my cc data for some verification...that was why I said...I bought it for free :-) Currently I have some numbers already in my library and I would like to share it with you some of them which I had read already (the arrangement was based on the book which I read first).

Waking Up Married by Mira Lyn Kelly
I like the book, though it was a bit slower and not as witty as the last book that I read, but I enjoyed reading this book...a lot until I burned my midnite oil *widely grinning. I like how the author finely switched between the female to the male perspective and vice versa. I like how the author managed to wrap the common plot with some surprises. Though the intimate romance wasn't steamy (it's a romance book so of course I have certain expectation 【ツ】ƗƗє²² ƗƗє²² ƗƗє²²【ツ】) but again...I still liked it...the story was light and easy to read.

The Italian's Inexperienced Mistress by Lynne Graham
Ah, the author must be Italian since almost all of the books written by her (I assume the author is woman but who knows) were all about Italian or some dessert rough. As usual, the story has similarity with other books, in term of the character as well as the plot. Though on this one, the author was trying to explore more on the darker part of the character but I just felt it was the same as others. It is good just for passing time when you practically have nothing to do.

The inconvenient Duchess by Christine Merrill
^_- ♡Ҡ ...I liked the setting. I always prefer medieval setting than the current age, somehow it gives me a glimpse of what life was all about in that era. The basic idea was pretty much common (yes...I have read some with similar plot as well). However, the story moved so slow...one step after another. No action whatsoever...which made me kinda sleepy reading it. But this one was definitely better than the second one (unless you are after steamy sex)

The Other Side of Us by Sarah Mayberry
My 4th book within a week. It started ^_- ♡Ҡ ...about 2 opposite genders with heavy baggage and incidentally ended up as neighbour. I like how the author put some 'break' between the story. Though the main idea was quite heavy...bout how we viewed our life but the way the story unfold was light with easy bantering. I liked it though my fav was still the first book :-)

Enjoy reading :-)

A short notes on TCBC

Hi...anybody has been missing me these few weeks *grinning. It's been a while since I last wrote my post...kinda hectic lately...but in a good way. Anyway, I wanna tell you bout the 3days training that I went for, from last Friday to Sunday (yes...just few days ago). I enrolled for Trainer Certification Boot Camp (TCBC) held by F6 Global Group from Singapore. It was a very tiring training...a 12hour session per day but it was worth all the exhaustion, starving, backpain and all. I am not gonna tell you about the training...geez don't wanna bore you to death but I wanna share something that I got from the persons that I met during the training.

First, meet Mr AK (all the names will be in initial) who is as old as my granny. He was flown from Malang just for this training. Initially I thought he was just an old man which had nothing to do...but how I was totally wrong (moral lesson: don't make assumption on your 1st impression). I learnt a lot from him. He showed me that being old doesn't mean you have reason to stop learning. I saw how comfortable he was with his laptop (and on friendly term with Mr Google as well), he wasn't showing off his knowledge but instead he had an attitude like a sponge. When we had to sit all day on the hard floor and I kept rubbing my pained back...he kept his smile instead. Man...I was so ashamed since he didn't utter a single word of complain or any inconvenient at all. I believe he is an old man with a young soul. He didn't ask special previledge for being a senior...he wanted to participate in every games (sometimes quite dangerous ones) and he didn't make any excuse (like some of us) when we asked him to be the 1st person to present. He is an amazing senior! I am proud to be on the same group with him during the training :-)

Secondly...meet Mrs NS. I have known her for few months (not too close though) but during the training, I saw some part of her which I've never seen before. On our 2nd day of training, we got an assignment to go to the nearest mall, got to know a stranger or two and got their namecards. Honestly speaking, this assignment terrified me...I got a coldfeet talking to total stranger. Lucky for me, the location of our assignment was M2S (the mall that I frequent very often - since I used to open a baby shop there, I still go there 5times a week for swimming, and my girls have their extra classes there as well). So in short, I asked namecard from 2 acquaintances of mine. I was Ħªppy and satisfied with my namecards while NS came back and showed me her-newly-gotten-10-namecards from total strangers. Wow...I was stunned! Though we only needed to get 2...she didn't stop at 2. She showed me...if she could get 10...why she should limit herself to 2. Her seriousness and always give the best of her...touched me deeply. Beside, she was willing to share her knowledge in public speaking to us. I really admire her...she is a darling leader!

Third, there is Mr DK from Surabaya. He is outgoing, friendly and love to make a joke. Who knew that deep within his appearance, he has a strong positive personality. He shared his experience in 'selling'...from being rejected tens times...his phone call was cut roughly...until the worst, door slammed right in front of his face...BAM! If I were him...I would probably quit and crawl back to my comfort zone...but he is persistent and never gives up. Those rejection fuels up his desire to success. Salute to him! I am proud to be his buddy during the training.

There were still lots of people who gave an inspiration for me, like a hawker seller from Bandung. We had a presentation assignment on the 3rd day and he simply told me that he didn't understand how and what should he present (we were given a certain topic to present). However, he still went to the stage to present (and if I could add...a good presentation too). I never thought that I could learn a lot from a simple peddler (no...I am not trying to be a snob) but I learned about courage from him. His courage to change his life...his courage to fail...his courage to learn, do his best and be ready for success have left a great impression for me. It was a beautiful sight to see how people is doing their very best.

During those 3days of training...I felt that I learned a lot from the above people and many more (which I couldn't write here). I did get the 2nd top scorer on the exam and surprisingly I got the 1st top leader as well (though until now...I am still confused why I was chosen 【ツ】ƗƗє²² ƗƗє²² ƗƗє²²). Imho, the above persons are more suitable as a leaders...in which they lead not with the said-instruction but they lead with heart and real action. They are what I call the TRUE LEADER. Bravo and salute to those people and may this short story inspire and touch your heart in one or another way.

My girl's chiro theraphy

Have you heard about chiropractic? It is widely known as the natural approach toward a healthier life by self-healing (without medicine). Mostly chiropractic improves the neuro system function by correcting the possible defect/deficiency from the normal function. It has been spreading widely like a mushroom in rainy days lately in Jakarta. Though I didn't know much about the practice itself, but I wished to share with you about my oldest girl's theraphy. Perhaps, the info will help some of you :-)

I had been noticing my girl's posture long ago...she was kind of hunching her back. I thought it was probably because of her height which was quite tall for her age (used to). However, after months of observation, I guessed it was hunched because of her bad habit in sitting, sleeping and other activities. I often teased her as dino since she had spiked back (from her spinal bones) whenever she bent forward...just like the dino's back (I can't remember the name though...something with saurus-word ‎Ħǎː̗(^▽^)ː̖Ħǎː̗(^▽^)ː̖Ħǎ). Before it got too late, we decided to bring her for check-up and treatment.

At first, we went to a chiropractic at CP mall with male foreign doctor (a package of 6sessions). He asked me to have my girl's rontgen and return after it was ready. They took posture photo for reference, just a normal photo which the patient stands in front of gridded lines. The gridded lines serves as the normal posture standard and will help in identifying the wrong posture. There was our 1st session with less than 15mins discussion. Then the 2nd session also went for another 15mins, with a little bit poking here and there by him. The doctor didn't talk a lot, though I asked him lots of question. Since I considered myself pretty fluent in English, I didn't think language became barrier. From the 3rd session onward, my girl had roughly 30mins of exercise (using either gym ball, some sort of neck massager, and other thing that I normally found inside certain sport shop in the mall). After the exercise, the doctor would check my girl for less than 5mins. So, after the package was taken, I didn't continue the treatment there. I was kinda off with the way the doctor treated his patient.

So, based on my friend's recommendation, I changed to another place at Kelapa Gading (they have a branch at PIK as well). During my first free-trial consultation session with the doctor (female this time), I was impressed by the way the doctor treated the patient. By looking at the rontgen pic provided and thermal-scan result (a painless scan which measures the heat of the spinal - the higher the heat, shows the higher percent of something goes wrong), she clearly told us what happened, what would happened if it wasn't treated, why it happened, what should be done, etc. She was informative (not holding onto certain info) and willing to share. Luckily my girl wasn't suffer from sciolosis or any spinal defect. She told us that my girl's right hip bone wasn't on its proper place, as well as the curve on the upper spinal bones. Based on her observation, she said my girl probably had flatfeet and urged me to make an appointment to a specialist with 2years in advance waiting list (bah!). Intensive treatment could return the spinal to its normal posture, provided my girl do the instructed exercise routinely at home and revise her habit in sitting and sleeping.

Then I decided to take 2 packages of treatment for my girl (since the package price was cheaper than fee per session and 1package is for 12sessions). The first 2 months were intensive, with 3-4 sessions per week then she had one session per week. Beside the treatment, my girl is supposed to wear a special designed vest (with cost us IDR 800k) as well to support her proper posture, with minimum 8hours of usage everyday. The first 2weeks of using vest were pretty hard and tiring for my girl, though we only used it for 4 hours per day. But after she is getting used to it, she wears it like the fashion now *grinning

After the first package was taken, the second thermal scan showed improvement of her spinal condition. Though her condition was improved, however, the daily use of vest didn't fully support her back (perhaps due to her small size in body). After discussion, we decided to throw in a new stuff in the treatment, called RockTape. A strong yet flexible tape which is normally used by athlete. For me, another extra cost IDR250k per box (only for around 2 months of use). Pretty pricey since the stuff is imported. In parallel, we continued with one sessions biweekly and now, she is undergoing one session per month for the rest of the treatment.

After lots of discussion, I deducted that the main cause of her spinal problem was due to her bad posture habit (which is easier to correct before puberty-age). Another cause was the soft rubber sandals/shoes that were very famous (used by toddler to aged person). Based on my discussion with technical advisor from a vendor which designs a custom-made cushion for flatfeet, etc, the soft design footware doesn't fully support the growth of the foot bones into a proper one. By using these kinds of sandals/shoes for a long time, the possibility of children to have flatfeet or other kind defect is higher. At the end, to promote a healthier life (coz lots of sickness can be derived from spinal), though it is difficult, we should start with proper posture habit along with proper treatment...like...throwing away those sandals (based on an input from my dearest one, i deleted the initial of the sandals' brand)
